A privately owned manufacturing company that services the electronics industry is currently in need of several full-time quality insurance inspectors. The testing and inspection of product at various stages of the production process will require the person to compile & evaluate data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products. This will consist of inspection, testing, measuring materials, products, installations for conformance to specifications.
The quality assurance inspector will spend part of their time in the laboratory, and part of their time in the production plant. Within the lab, work will be done with various office equipment including a computer, telephone, printer and photocopier. While in the plant, the quality assurance inspector will be taking samples and working with production employees.
Use rulers, measuring tape, calipers, gauges or micrometers to verify conformation to specifications. Communicate deviations to supervisors or specified personnel. Discard or reject products that do not meet specifications. Recommend necessary corrective actions based on inspection results.
These positions use a rotating schedule which changes every 3 months (quarterly):
1st Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
2nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. 5% premium
3rd Shift: 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. 7% premium
The starting pay rate for entry level candidates is $13 per hour, though candidates with applicable experience may be offered $15 per hour or more.
Qualified candidates will have at least 1 – 3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates must have strong math skills, and an excellent attention to detail.
The physical demands of the position require an individual comfortable with lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and regularly 10 – 25 pounds. The position also requires candidates that have strong communication skills and some experience working with MS Office programs.
