The Business Development Coordinator is tasked with expanding sales and marketing efforts specifically for our Food and Industrial specialty product lines.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Lead the initiative for overall specialty product line strategy; through growth funnel opportunities, and creating / driving new programs.
-Actively get involved with specialty product line growth through growth / pipeline opportunities.
-Attend association shows and exhibits to explore new opportunities and expansion of business for company.
*Represents company at trade organizations and events as required.
*Works with Sales staff and Management to design and organize company marketing materials and sales staff participation at trade
organizations and events, as required.
*Makes recommendations to Management regarding opportunities for attending or exhibiting at new trade shows and exhibits.
-Work with the President, Director of Operations, Director of Sales, Assistant Sales Manager and Vice President of Sales and Marketing
to develop and maintain strong relationships with key specialty product line suppliers.
-Support the product development process with coordination and identifying product requirements such as performance, attributes,
features, options, complimentary products, costs and time-lines.
-Coordinate new product / new application launch to meet business unit and / or customer requirements.
-Manage the rollout of new product lines.
-Support Sales in developing key account strategies.
-Marketing and promotional items, resources and programs:
*Make recommendations to Management regarding the need for new – or modifications to existing – company website.
*Responsible for content, schedule and recipient database for monthly email marketing campaign.
-Assist leadership with setting the pricing strategy for designated product lines.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Food safety and Quality Responsibilities.
*Special attention is required to maintaining all product related duties in compliance with food safety guidelines.
Education and Experience
*3+ years of food ingredient and / or chemical industry; sales, marketing or technical service experience.
*Minimum high school diploma is required, but a Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degrees preferred.
*Must have strong computer skills
*Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
*Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and internal Management.
*Oral communication skills
*Written communication skills
*Excellent interpersonal skills and willing and able to engage existing (and some prospective) customers on another level.
*Proactive approach to product, process and people improvements.
*Must be tenacious with an entrepreneurial spirit.
*Must have strong attention to detail and extremely organized to manage and keep up with a long sages cycle.
*Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight as needed.
Employee to provide a suitable vehicle for occasional sales
Maintain a valid drivers license ,registration and state minimum auto insurance coverage.
Food Science background a plus
Product Management a plus
Experience with Food, Personal Care Products or Industrial developmental lines are a plus
*$65,000 annual salary
*Commission (5% of Gross Profit generated by new business).
*$3,600.00 / yr. car allowance
